The Lion City

Its been 2.5 years since i last visited Singapore. Ceci, Yan, Noi, Elisha and I made our way to Singapore last sunday, with one purpose: TO celebrate our big sis, ELISHA LIU’s bday! Definitely, it was a great trip and im very satisfied with my harvest over the weekend ^.^

*touchdown*

DAY 1

Elisha’s Bday – All of us reached in the morning, all flying from different cities in Asia. Sha was from KL, Noi and me flew from Brunei, Ceci and Yan flew from Miri.

Our first mission was to ‘sapu’ Bugis (Bagis – Sha’s version). With only a few hours before dawn, we didnt shop much. Dinner was at Marche, 313. I like their concept. Its like a supermarket and real food are used as decoration. Everything is SO Fresh and it does make us hungry for more food, even when we are full! The ice cream was super super delicious – Movenpick. MUST TRY! Mushroom soup was fine as well. They have everything, pasta, pizza, deserts, salads, juices, crepes, pastries, etc..

We headed to Acid bar across 313, where there was a small stage where Khai and this other guy performed live. The music was good, he can sing well and we enjoyed every moment with it. Maybe its the alcohol effect.

DAY 2

Orchard – We pratically spent the whole day on Orchard Road. Breakfast was at Din Tai Fung at Paragon. Yam paste dimsum was super delicious and their signature dish is a must-try item too! Far East Plaza where ceci desperately wanted to go, proved to be a MUST-GO shopping centre. They have loads to offer, and not to mention, CHEAP and NICE! we called this, PENG LENG ZHENG!

We made our way to ION and Somerset after that. It was 7pm when we realised it was about time to go back to the hotel. Definitely had a hard time getting a taxi. I asked Elisha to ask for directions and she was like choosing a husband. I ended up asking a kid/man for directions and he thought i was pulling his leg. Thanks to Noi and Sha for laughing at me when I asked him! =P

Babes, i wont forget our ‘taxi’ experience when i was shouting at you girls to ask for help! Ive got so much to carry and i had to run with all the bags to the taxi. When i got into the car, the first thing i said was, “ Cipet! I want to scold people already!”. haha.. frustrated to the max!

That night was also the first time I visited Clarke Quay. How i wish Brunei has that kind of place to hang out at night. We had our drinks at Allergo, where we met the cutey- Jaime Liu. He’s a diver and he likes to travel around Asia. Glad to have met you Jaime! And, thanks for your hospitality! Ill definitely go back there to visit you again, the next trip. After a few drinks + Chai mui, all of us were Wee Wang Wang~ We headed to Mustafa Centre to get perfumes, where Singaporeans claimed to be the cheapest in town! We also got to meet Uncle David Copperfield! He’s the taxi driver that talks a lot and looks scary.. like a psycho. haha! Then in the end, he gave us a discount on the taxi fare, and we finally called him KOKO and he was so happy! LOL

*lovely Jaime*

DAY 3

Split up – it was the last day to shop and we made our own ways to get our stuffs. Me and noi tried the Waraku Japanese Restaurant and I got to say, Brunei has got better japanese food! And I said that to James, a friend of mine whom I met over the weekend. James and I had dinner at MYHANDBURGER and the burger was actually good. I had the Green Tea Ice for desert and it was better than those that Snow Ice have.

I headed back to Allergo after dinner but didnt stay long. We went for some karaoke with Yick! thanks Yick for your hospitality as well! I’ll see you next month during CNY! I owe you one meal! :)

DAY 4

Chilli Crab – Fung arrived Singapore that morning and we met up for some chilli crab at Jumbo Restaurant. Yes C! I know you werent exaggerating when you said their Crabs were 5/5. Its THAT GOOD! But me cut me fingers while eating it! Despite being so full, fung insisted we should try Beard Papas, grill chicken and pork. For some reason, im thankful he came only on the last day. If not, we will be eating our hearts out in Singapore =P But Fung, thats great to catch up in Singapore after 7 years since we’ve last visited Singapore together. Good old days hoh!

*Super-licious Chilli Crabs!*

The trip ended when we flew back Brunei last nite, But my heart is still in Singapore. I guess Ive never walked that much for so long. Can barely feel my legs! Our next trip will be this year end!

James, hope to see you at Adelaide this April. :)

Rain Rain Rain.

Its been raining cats and dogs all day! I can still hear the rain hitting the roof.

Facebook is the only mean to update myself with local news. A friend told me my house is flooded. Im not surprised tho. It was also through facebook that I found out that a friend went to Kuching to handle some issues. I hope she is doing fine. I will pick up the pieces if you want me to. I bet the other girlfriends would definitely do the same thing. :) Our shoulders are always ready for you girl!

Facebook also connects me to other friends and the world. I also found out that Philip Yam went to miri just now, but not too sure whats the purpose tho. Inn was worried her house in Ban 3 will be flooded. American Idol is going to show soon.. or is it showing already? Tong will be attending Barracudas game this sat and so am I!

*frogs shouting – nggoooonnnggg… ngggggooooonnngggg*

time to sleep..

My New Year!

It was my first time spending time with my family on New Year EVE!

Our plan was to catch the fireworks display at Empire at midnight, but we had some time to kill. My cousins tagged along to this wonderful gathering and shall I say,we had a good time.

Jerudong park was the first destination. Too bad, it was pouring heavily and we were stucked at the old Stimulator area. But to my surprise, they have shows there every night (I THINK!); one at 8.30 and 9.30. The first one was the bubble show, which really amused me! haha.. Im still a kid at heart! THe second show was the Magic Show. I dont watch tv shows that often but I do know theres so thing as Magic. If anyone wants to prove me wrong, please feel free to present yourself. :)

We headed to empire at 10.30 and it was already getting packed. We waited at the area near the Base and I met few of my friends’ parents. Fireworks display lasted for about 15 minutes and it was great. We left just before the display ended to avoid the jam but we were stucked for about 30 mins++. I reached home in KB at ard 2 and didnt have enough energy to make myself to friend’s party. I just couldnt be bothered anymore~ LOL! Sorry for turning up at ur place,Mal. But I still want to see ur new place soon.

So far, this year has been treating me well. Well, it has been 2 weeks only though.

I hope you had a good one that night and May this year bring endless joy, good health, career and loads of MONEY to you and your family!

Oh, Happy new year, Uncle Francis and Uncle Fong! :)

Hot Pot!

Have I ever mention about a restaurant offering hot pot in gadong? If you have not try dining at Berry Wan Hotpot Restaurant, then you should definitely try their steamboat buffet! It costs B$10 per pax only but you can have dishes ranging for mee to dim sum!

I was there with Ching and Jimmy last night and as usual, i ate a lot and i felt so guilty after that. It always happen but i cant be bothered to stop though. haha! Cos its that good. I remember when it first happened. Fiona suggested to try out at this restaurant after spotting it on her way to Gadong. I spotted it as well but never bother to try. One day, we arranged dinner at this place and ever since, we tried their tom yam, we cant stop! LOL

Good things, food, memories are meant to be share among good friends. So here i am, telling you a good piece of memory in my life. =.=
