Mr Turtle got a scrub

Human loves body scrub but Mr Turtle doesnt. It was being aggressive and naughty when I tried to carry it. Mum did the brushing instead.

Mr Turtle has been with me for the past 14 years. I bought it with my first pay when I was in Primary 6. Ever since then I didnt really take care of it. Dad asked me to let it go a few times but am afraid it couldnt survive out in the wild! maybe it will get run over by a car or eaten by eagle or something like that. Its partner ran away few years back when we let it out on the grass to do some exercise.

I wonder how long can a turtle survive .. do anyone of you know? Maybe its a good time to google about turtle this time! LOL!

Miss Jalan Laksamana

For the first time, Miss Jalan Laksamana cooked laksa for dinner and had some friends over to enjoy that very first laksa =)

It was not bad at all~ (well, its ready mix so it cant get that bad).

Lesson learnt today: Instructions are there for a reason and not for display only. I accidentally added the sambal chilli into the gravy! Nyuk Tien was so mad at me, cos she doesnt like spicy food!

Ingredients:

1 prima taste laksa paste
1200 ml water
2 pcs chicken thigh
4 eggs
10 prawns
1 cucumber
12 pcs of fishball
3 pcs of fish cake

Servings: 4 pax

Food at Chempaka never fail to impress me.. =) Im so full from the salted egg fried chicken, steam meat, black egg, veges~~ *slurrpss*

Today marks the first working day in this holy month. Everyone else gets to go back at 3pm but i have to stay back till 5pm. It was so quiet at the office, especially when my one and only chinese colleague is on leave today! However, the peacefulness does makes the mind more refreshed and was able to concentrate more.

Today I managed to fast for 6 hours only and ordered food again. I guess mission failed.. however, we have got many 'tomorrow', well at least till the end of next month! One day.. I will take up this challenge!

To my guys who are leaving for Singapore tomorrow, have a good trip and dont forget souvenirs for me please!! =D Oh, dont forget to wear masks!! =P

Ever since the launching of the Courtesy Campaign at my workplace, we are slowly accepted by my colleagues and they are more aware of our existence.

We've been receiving emails on their stories, which we called, Smile Story. Its good to see all of them getting involved in the Campaign. And I can see more people participating in our events and would like to contribute a fair bit of their time and money to help others. For us, we really appreciate their help as we have VERY limited resources.

Tomorrow, one of our colleagues will present a fridge for the crew behind the doors at the airport who handle all of our baggages! I was kinda surprised to see someone buying a fridge for his staffs. I believe by doing something Good, you will receive something better. I cant wait to see the pics!! =)

And yes, more smile stories please!

As Ramadhan is approaching, restaurants have been promoting their specialties and set menus for Sungkai.

RBA is promoting their Sungkai Buffet at all outlets: Dynasty, Empress court, Express, Airport Restaurant and Seasons. I have always love RBC's buffet as they have good food!

I would like to share with you my top choices for buffet during Ramadhan in Bandar!

1. RBC Airport Restaurant
- International theme: lamb, chicken, western, grilled, ambuyat.. etc

2. Rizqun
- Simple yet nice. Hot noodles, grilled lamb, desserts..

3. I-Lotus
- Great food, but service might be a bit slow in terms of refilling the food. Grilled prawns, laksa, Dimsum.

4. Nyonya Restaurant
- Something different in the way they cook their dishes. Love the dimsum and veges!

This year I would love to try the buffet in Orchid Garden. Have always wanted to try but always couldnt get seats!! yes, it was that packed. Lung mentioned he wasnt satisfied with the food.. but I think I should try it out myself! =)

aww.. Rainbow?

This evening I came across a rainbow which was so beautiful. I couldnt get a shot of it as I was driving.. At that moment, I thought to myself *"hmm... does that mean the moon will not be sighted tonight?"*

At 7+, it was announced that the first day of ramadhan will fall on 22nd August 2009, Saturday. And this means theres a long weekend ahead! =D I havent got any plans yet, just wanna bum at home and meet up with some friends.

Today is also the first time I encountered a chain reaction accident!! It happened around 7+ and caused massive traffic jam along Jalan tutong. Im not too sure how many cars are involved but its definitely more than 5 cars!! And I thought it was some fight or something from far.

Pepsi Cup is still going on and I managed to catch the 7pm game. Babes Boutique vs YTE. YTE played really well but still didnt manage to win Babes boutique which was represented by pro and semi-pro filipinos. The basketball game ended with a difference of exactly 10 points. I lost in my bet with Jan and bought him a drink! Inn won and Jan owe her a drink. Yan lost and owe Jan a drink. So in the end, Yan bought a drink for Inn instead. Complicated? I think so too! hehe!

Gathering @ Hani's

Whats better than a laid back afternoon with some girls? Fun fun fun! We should do this more. Just got back from a gathering held at Hani's place and the crib is awesome!! good enough for a 20 years old house!

We, the crew members exchanged presents and everyone got a gift at the end of the day. I got myself a hand and body cream from Victoria Secret, contributed by Tyni. Rita got the gift that I brought, a mixture of piggy banks, burner and a photo frame! Hope you like it, Rita!

After most of the crew left, the girls stayed back for some karaoke and a game of Taboo. I realised that Im not really good at explaining stuffs but Im good at 'doing' stuffs. haha!! =)

The day has yet to come to an end. I will be attending aDeQ's bersyukur ceremony in Jerudong later tonite and hopefully ill get to spend some more quality times with my girls.

I was rushing out to meet Vicky at HSBC bandar for lunch, when I bumped into Andre, Jan's basketball teammate.
"Hi Andre!", I shouted. (Ive never talked to him before)
Andre looked shocked and try to act cool by a weird smile..
Before he could say anything, I told him im a friend of JT who happened to be at both matches that they played days ago.
Nothing much was said.

After lunch, as I was walking towards my office, it was a huge crowd of people going into my office.. and suddenly I remembered my boss mentioned about new comers orientation at work. I quickly moved through the crowd to get to my seat.

Thankfully, my seat was just near the door! Well, its just not nice letting the new comers see me coming back to work at 2pm. OH, i had a late lunch and not that I took 2 hours lunch break.

TO my surprise, they are not so new after all.. some have been working for RBA for few months. And i wonder why am I not included in the orientation program?! hmmpff!! THey even get to try the simulator at training centre.

Among the crowd, I spotted a familiar face. It was Andre. And I thought to myself, what a small world! Hes working for RBA? hmmm... Before leaving my office, Andre asked me about the match last nite which he didnt turn up as he had a wedding to attend.

He was quite surprised when I told him his team lost by 50+ points! Disappointed, he left my office but managed to apologise for not recognising me and insisted that he vaguely remembers me..

I also managed to meet Kart for a while since shes a newbie at work as well. Oh and she bought a badge from me. What badge? Courtesy Campaign Badge. It comes in two lovely designs in 3 different sizes. Now and then, you will see me wearing that badge proudly! =)

p/s: Ill be getting my simulator ride sometime soon anyways =P Thanks Jeffrey for the wonderful offer!

She was so pretty..

Adeq's berbedak and bersanding ceremony was held last weekend at BSRC. I was informally recruited as the Penganun #2. LOL!

She looked amazing that day and I was really happy for her. When i think about it, I feel sad that both my best gurlfwenz are now married and have their own life, leaving me alone!! HMPF!! =(

Here, I would like to wish them a blessed marriage, may their journey continues and hope that we will have a gurlfwenzies Junior soon! And ill be Auntie Leone! =)

Im not used to me having some 'me' time at work and especially when my phone doesnt ring for the whole day.

For the past few weeks, I was so busy at work, emails kept coming in, phone kept ringing, had to attend this and attend that.. But now, Im just too free! sigh... But im kinda look forward to tomorrow tho.

Tomorrow as part of my courtesy campaign, we will get some baby stuffs for my friend whose husband passed away few days ago. As she is one of our colleagues, we would like to ease her burden especially that now shes the breadwinner for the family. I hope we can help her in any way, even though its just those small 'things'.

Talking about the Courtesy Campaign, Im actually glad im part of it as Im helping my colleagues to work harder and feel good about the company. We are trying our very best to do the small things that could lead to a big change. Birthday greetings are sent out everyday, we have a blog, we have different themes for every month, and most importantly, it helps improve employee morale at the workplace.

Yesterday, we had a meeting. It turned out pretty good as we all felt appreciated by others. We got emails from our colleagues thanking us for the things that we've done and more people are aware of our existence. They might not know how much their words can affect us and motivate us to continue bringing more excitement and ideas to the workplace!

This Sunday, we are participating in the Pusat Ehsan Charity Bazaar where we are going to sell some food, drinks and some train rides! Yes, train rides. Luckily, one of our crew members have a cart well designed and we are sure it will be the highlight of the day! TOo bad i cant participate in this week's event, as I have a wedding to attend! I do hope that it will be a successful one and set a benchmark for the upcoming activities!

Life is that VULNERABLE!

*phone rings*

"Hey babe! wassup?", I said..
"Hey babe, did you listen to the news just now?!", Adeq asked.
"NO! Whats wrong?"
"Roy just passed away in a bike accident this morning! And Neng just gave birth to their second child last month!"...

Suddenly there was a moment of silence. Both of us thought to ourselves, how vulnerable life can be. There's no assurance in life, and it seems like there isn't any happy endings at all.

Over the weekend..

I attended Yvonne Yong and Shaun Goh's wedding which was held at Rizqun. Love the performances, the couple walk and most importantly, they looked stunning! =)

Besides enjoying the food, I had a great time posing for some lovley pics. haha! Fiona and Ching was trying to jump. After several attempts, we finally managed to get a good shot! But we needed 4 photographers to do that for us. Too bad, i wasnt wearing the right dress. I couldnt jump otherwise Ill be creating a free show for the guys there! haha!

Think I didnt get enough sleep recently. ive been having zits on my face and its really annoying. Doing mask now and i hope it can reduce the swell tomorrow!

Good morning sunshine..

.. i mean good afternoon people.

I was telling my friend how early I woke up this morning and i wasnt even this punctual when i go to work every morning! Was in Bandar before 8am, reached KB before 10. Had breakfast with RBs, and now am back home waiting for the big guy's call.

Still clueless of what to do for the day, I think im going be stucked in front of this lappie for quite some time before I get any call.

Anyboo.. have a good weekend my dearest friends! =D
